YALETOWN HIDEAWAY
Three months in and teensy Fuse Pan Asian Express in the Yaletown Galleria (1078 Mainland Street—entry is on Helmcken Street) is something of a local secret, and Yaletown worker bees like it that way. Eat in, take out, or drive by, it’s all about convenience and healthy eats with ready-to-go nicely spiced Asian wraps, salad rolls (chicken, prawn, or tofu), and salads, as well as cooked-to-order hoisin-braised short ribs, stir-fry noodles, and plenty more.

Fight breast cancer with sweetness

RAFE ARNOTT/METRO VANCOUVER
Wayne Sych, executive chef with The Cannery restaurant, puts the finishing touches on his white chocolate and raspberry semifreddo at the Vancouver Marriot yesterday.
There’s a delicious new way to participate in the fight against breast cancer this month — indulging in your sweet tooth.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation has joined forces with chefs at six of Vancouver’s top restaurants for Tickled Pink, a month-long campaign to fundraise for breast cancer research.

Each restaurant is adding a pink-hued dessert to its menu for August, with proceeds going to the CIBC Run For The Cure on Oct. 5.

Christina, with Fuse Pan Asian Express in Yaletown, said participating in the event would be a creative way to give back.

“We thought this would be a really fun thing to do and we wanted to get involved in the community.”

The restaurant is offering a tangy pineapple sorbet infused with strawberries rolled in a sweet sesame coconut crust for $5.

Other participating restaurants are Bridges, The Cannery, The Showcase Restaurant, Relish and The Revel Room.

Thank you again for the delicious tapas that Fuse Express prepared for our event. Our guests were really impressed with the food and I appreciate your help very much! You have been extremely patient and accommodating in helping us work out a menu that fits our budget. I even saw you helping to serve the food at one point which goes to show your dedication to customer service. I would definitely recommend Fuse Express to anyone who is looking for an outstanding caterer.

A very satisfied customer,

Wayne Cho
