YALETOWN HIDEAWAY
Three months in and teensy Fuse Pan Asian Express in the Yaletown Galleria (1078 Mainland Street—entry is on Helmcken Street) is something of a local secret, and Yaletown worker bees like it that way. Eat in, take out, or drive by, it’s all about convenience and healthy eats with ready-to-go nicely spiced Asian wraps, salad rolls (chicken, prawn, or tofu), and salads, as well as cooked-to-order hoisin-braised short ribs, stir-fry noodles, and plenty more.

There’s a delicious new way to participate in the fight against breast cancer this month — indulging in your sweet tooth.
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation has joined forces with chefs at six of Vancouver’s top restaurants for Tickled Pink, a month-long campaign to fundraise for breast cancer research.
Each restaurant is adding a pink-hued dessert to its menu for August, with proceeds going to the CIBC Run For The Cure on Oct. 5.
Christina, with Fuse Pan Asian Express in Yaletown, said participating in the event would be a creative way to give back.
“We thought this would be a really fun thing to do and we wanted to get involved in the community.”
The restaurant is offering a tangy pineapple sorbet infused with strawberries rolled in a sweet sesame coconut crust for $5.
Other participating restaurants are Bridges, The Cannery, The Showcase Restaurant, Relish and The Revel Room.

Fuse Pan Asian Express is great value for Yaletown’s pricey façade, and provides great take-out in a flash. If you like Stir Fry or vegetarian dishes, you’ll love this small often over-looked jewel.

For a place this small and casual, it sure offers some spiffy plates

You can light a fuse, change a fuse, blow a fuse, be confused, defuse a bomb or a situation, suffuse a room with light or light a room with nuclear fusion, refuse the cold fusion theory or diffuse a kitchen with the aromatic infusions of a profusion of cooking, transfusing the senses with effusive displays of drooling and chop-licking anticipation. Much like I saw Pluto do in an old Mickey Mouse cartoon when he didn’t get any birthday cake.
