Wayne Sych, executive chef with The Cannery restaurant, puts the finishing touches on his white chocolate and raspberry semifreddo at the Vancouver Marriot yesterday.
There’s a delicious new way to participate in the fight against breast cancer this month — indulging in your sweet tooth.
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation has joined forces with chefs at six of Vancouver’s top restaurants for Tickled Pink, a month-long campaign to fundraise for breast cancer research.
Each restaurant is adding a pink-hued dessert to its menu for August, with proceeds going to the CIBC Run For The Cure on Oct. 5.
Christina, with Fuse Pan Asian Express in Yaletown, said participating in the event would be a creative way to give back.
“We thought this would be a really fun thing to do and we wanted to get involved in the community.”
The restaurant is offering a tangy pineapple sorbet infused with strawberries rolled in a sweet sesame coconut crust for $5.
Other participating restaurants are Bridges, The Cannery, The Showcase Restaurant, Relish and The Revel Room.
